The print industry has become tough-going in recent years. To survive is not simply down to price. Many factors now come into play: service, quality production and brand presence. Park Lane Press produce superior output through a waterless printing process that not only reproduces imagery with greater clarity, but is far more environmentally responsible than conventional lithographic print.

I’d always thought choosing to print waterless with Park Lane Press is a clever decision. So, when they approached me to update their brand presence and website, I already had an idea in mind. I established the creative territory ‘Environmentally Wise’ and from this, Parky, a wise little owl was born. A fun, iconic graphic combining the P and L from the company name, Parky became the new company logo. He has added a cheeky friendliness to the brand presentation, reflecting the company personality as a whole.

As well as becoming an instantly recognisable asset for the client, I brought Parky to life on social media. Working closely with Nicky Roberts to create ‘tweets-to-woo’ with Parky’s words of wisdom, he imparts his worldly advice through Instagram and Twitter. He also appeared as the star of several direct mail campaigns to printing clients across the country.

To create a seamless and consistent presentation I designed an entire branding protocol that runs through all marketing opportunities, in print and the digital realm.

Parky has been warmly received by clients old and new. His presence has allowed the client to amplify the notion that they are the ‘wise choice’ for eco-friendly printing, in a customer-friendly way.
